Tip of the Week: Improve defect tracking with Issue Workflow feature

How your team handles defects has a direct impact on testing efficiency and visibility.

With PractiTest’s Issue Workflow, you can customize how issues move through your process - making it consistent, controlled, and aligned with how your team actually works.

With Issues Workflow, you can:

  1. Define your own statuses
(e.g., Blocked, Rejected, Ready for Retest) instead of relying on generic ones
  2. Control how issues progress
Decide which statuses an issue can move to from each stage
  3. Set permissions for transitions
For example, allow only managers to mark issues as Rejected, or only QA to move items to Retest

Where to find it:

Go to:
Project Settings → Workflow → Select entity type “Issue”

Why it matters

  • Keeps defect handling consistent across the team
  • Prevents incorrect status changes
  • Improves visibility and reporting accuracy

Pro tip!

If issues are jumping between statuses too freely or inconsistently, it’s a sign your workflow could benefit from clearer transitions and permissions.
