Shifting from Dashboard to Answers - It's time to look at QA a little differently

I wrote a short Linked In article about something that’s been bothering me for a while.

We put a lot of effort into reports and dashboards…
But how often do they actually answer the questions our stakeholders care about?

Maybe it’s time to look at our work a bit differently.
Less focus on reporting activity, more focus on delivering answers.

Its an interesting one for me. In my 30+ years doing this job, despite providing on numerous occasions, test reports with loads of data & tables, etc., very often the response I’ve had is…”but what do you think Philip?”

As Test Managers we paid for our opinions and experience so maybe AI and refocusing the question will better help us form those opinions and importantly justify them with real data
